Tuition Fees: What a headache!

The good news is that a degree from an English University can give you a comparative advantage in the English as well as the world market. Apart from that, studying in an English University is a satisfying experience on its own.
The bad news is that it's getting more expensive. Most Universities have raised their fees at £9,000 for next year for home and EU students. If you come from outside the EU, then you will have to pay more. If you have this money, congratulations! getting a place and studying in an English University is quite straightforward (please read on). If you don't, do not despair! You might be able to find a sponsor for your studies. Contact the British Council in your country; they usually provide scholarships for exceptional students. It is also very likely that your country has a dedicated Scholarships Institution . Make sure you contact them well in advance.
Top Tip: You don't necessarily need to pay tuition fees for your studies. There are courses that involve placements instead of tuition fees while you study. Nursing training is one of them.

Student Life: Let the Party Begin?

Yeah! Generally speaking, if you are well-organised you can manage to balance an exciting social life with good grades. After all, that's what studying abroad is all about.
How much you will party will also depend on your budget. For more information about how much it can cost you, see our Cost of Living section. As a student, however, you will discover that that the best things in life are free. See Student Free Stuff for things to do and get for free in the UK. If you wish to make some extra money as a student, you can get a part-time job.
